International Organisation profile - American Society of
Animal Science (ASAS) |
Established in 1908, the American
Society of Animal Science (ASAS) is a professional organization for
animal scientists designed to help members provide effective
leadership through research, extension, teaching and service for the
dynamic and rapidly changing livestock and meat industries.
Mission statement
To discover, disseminate and apply
knowledge for sustainable use of animals for food and other human
needs.
ASAS objectives

Publish the monthly Journal of Animal
Science as a means of disseminating scientific and educational
information.

Promote research that discovers and
expands knowledge in animal science and enhances the quality of
animal products.

Foster high standards of education.

Promote the profession and vocation
of animal science.

Be a resource for information on
issues of public concern related to animals.

Attention all scientists, researchers,

The 2007 Joint Annual Meeting of the
American Dairy Science Association (ADSA), Poultry Science
Association (PSA), Asociación Mexicana de Producción Animal (AMPA),
and the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) will be held July
7-12, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas.
