EAAP participation in European Union Projects

EAAP is coordinating the following EU projects:

Young Train

Type of project: Specific Support Action (SSA)

Short description: The project aims at increasing knowledge and networking for initially 40 early career animal scientists from Central and Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean area, through e-Learning training and mentoring in a whole food chain approach to meat safety and quality.
Duration: 34 months starting from1st May 2005

EFABIS-Net

Type of project: Targeted Action

Short description: An integrated network of decentralized country biodiversity and genebank databases through i) setting-up of decentralized national inventories of animal genetic resources on the basis of the EFABIS database system, ii) establishing decentralized national inventories of national gene bank collections, iii) developing a permanent management structure of the European network of animal genetic resources inventories.

Duration: 46 months starting from 1st January 2007

EAAP is participating as a partner in the following projects:

FABRE-TP

Type of project: Specific Support Action

Short description: The goal of this project is to support further development of the Technology Platform on Sustainable Farm Animal Breeding and Reproduction (FABRE TP). With a wide range of stakeholders, a Strategic Research Agenda will be developed. The SRA remit encompasses all farm animals with a professional interest in breeding.

Duration: 18 months starting from July 2006

Globaldiv

Type of project: Accompanying Action

Short description: The overall objective of GLOBALDIV is to disseminate current advanced and integrated methodologies for the characterization, evaluation prioritization and conservation of livestock genetic resources.
