Patenting
website |
 |
The Patenting Sentinel and Action
Service (PSAS), launched in July 2006 by ICAR and EAAP, is based on
an international network for the exchange of information on animal
patenting issues. The network comprises to date 21 member
organizations from Europe, America, Africa and Australia. The
mission of PSAS is to:
 |
constantly update PSAS members on
patenting application legislation in the animal sector, so as to
lead to a deeper knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects
of this issue;
|
 |
monitor specific patent applications
worldwide, which are of most interest to PSAS members;
|
 |
possibly take action in a rapid and
effective way in relation to specific patenting applications.
|
The PSAS website provides information
on legal, technical, and practical aspects of animal patenting, as
well as worldwide news and resources. More specifically, information
is organized in the following sections: general information on IP
and patenting, legal aspects of patenting and legislation in the EU,
relevant publications, patenting glossaries, news and information on
patenting in different countries , specific cases of animal
patenting, worldwide events, useful links. The latest development of
the PSAS is the “Ask PSAS” service, where your questions on
animal patenting issues are answered by the legal adviser of PSAS,
Mrs. Erin Ogden (patent attorney, USA). We invite you to use this
free service to get the answers to any questions you might have on
patenting issues. Moreover, a free e-mail newsletter of PSAS was
issued in November 2006 and a discussion forum will soon be
available.
