The Romanian Association for Animal
Production (SRZ) is a non-governmental and non-lucrative
organization and is the scientific and professional association of
animal production engineers and other experts and individuals who
are working in the animal production field. SRZ organization is
based on the free association of its members.
SRZ is acting as a self-managed
organization and is a member of the European Association for Animal
Production. SRZ is cooperating with the Ministry of Agriculture,
Forestry and Rural Development and used to receive help from that
Ministry according to the standards of the European Association for
Animal Production. Regional branches of SRZ are responsible for
SRZ’s activity at county level, and they are doing their job in
co-operation with competent agencies at that level.
Objectives of SRZ are as following:

Helping Romanian animal production to
be worldwide competitive.

Supporting and acting for the
improvement of technical and scientific level of the organization
members.

Encouraging and supporting the
resourceful initiatives of its members for the ongoing improvement
of technologies for animal improvement and animal production, with
the obligation to make proposals for methodological, organizational
and technical improvements in respect of major problems of animal
production science and practice and also in the preparation at
experts of different levels.

Acting for the development of
professional ethics of its members.

Co-operating with the Ministry of
Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, the Academy of
Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, various institutions of higher
education and research, other professional organizations and private
companies.

Acting for spreading of animal
sciences and ongoing improvement of its members’ competence.

Supporting branch unions both
professionally and in defending the rights of the members of the
organization.
