Independent Research Group Leader at Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Biology (Dummerstorf, Germany)
Leibniz-FBN has an open vacancy for an Independent Research Group Leader/Head of Division who will complement and synergize with the Institute’s existing programmes. PhD opportunity at the University of Limerick (Limerick, Ireland)
A PhD project on sheep reproductive physiology and immunology is available under a EU Funded ERA-Net project, “Sustainable Sheep Production” (SusSheP). The overall objective of this PhD project is to examine the underlying molecular mechanisms regulating sperm transport in European ewe breeds known to have divergent fertility following cervical insemination. The successful candidate will register with the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Limerick for a 4-year Ph.D. degree. The SLU Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics in Uppsala is recruiting a PhD student in the research education subject of animal science (specialization: molecular genetics). The successful candidate will take advantage of the remarkable phenotypic variation among horses to search their entire genome for mutations that regulate hair growth, using state-of-the-art genomics technologies (high-density array data, whole genome sequencing and advanced bioinformatics). The Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, at the American University of Beirut seeks a full-time faculty appointee who will develop distinguished research and teaching programs in the field of Animal Physiology. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant Professor or above, starting August 15, 2017. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses (four per year – fall and spring semesters) in animal anatomy and physiology, livestock production, and animal systems, bovine and small ruminant adaptation to arid and semiarid environments and other courses consistent with both the needs of the department and the expertise of the candidate.
