In light of the uncertainty about the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficulty in making plans about hosting a major International conference, the EAAP Council at its recent meeting decided to make the difficult decision to cancel the onsite 2020 EAAP Annual Meeting. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause, but we believe that it is the most socially responsible action we can take to keep our delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and hosts safe. We have however decided, given the evolving nature of the pandemic, to host the meeting as virtual event.
EAAP is currently preparing a strategy to allow for the hosting of such an event. We plan to keep a similar scientific structure as for the traditional on-site meeting. The Book of Abstracts will be prepared as per usual. There will be virtual sessions with speakers and participants. This is a new virtual direction for our meeting to offer the animal science network the best opportunity to share their research in the most updated and scientifically advanced forum in the world. We believe that it is important that a meeting in some form is held this year, rather than a complete cancellation.
We are currently working through all technical details to offer you this new aspect of the EAAP Annual Meeting. You will receive in the next weeks, via the EAAP website and email notifications, detailed information about how to register, present researches and simply how to participate to the virtual event.
For those who have previously registered for the 2020 annual meeting, they will receive in the next weeks a separate email with details about a refund system.
We regret to cancel this year the onsite EAAP Annual Meeting that is the traditional place for more than one thousand animal scientists get together to meet, socialize, exchange views and ideas, but we are already looking to next year in Davos (Switzerland) to enjoy the same experience. We appreciate your support and look forward to you being able to participate in our new virtual format of the Conference for 2020.
